Steven Lopez is a first-generation Angeleno who split his time growing up between the hills of Northeast LA and the Venice Boardwalk. During the course of his commercial real estate career, Steven oversaw the design and construction management of 15 full-service restaurants and upwards of 85 inline retail units, as well as numerous trendy coffee bars, juice kiosks, and sneaker stores. Of the largest projects to his name was the €6 million Balenciaga showroom on Wooster Street in SoHo, Manhattan — a project that saw him travel to Paris multiple times for client meetings. Additionally, Steven relocated to Boston for one year, on a design management contract refurbishing Terminal C at Boston Logan Airport.
Steven attended USC’s Annenberg School of Communication in the 90s. But having always been an architecture lover, he realized this was not the correct path. After his first trip to the U.K. in 2001, Steven decided to enroll at a design institute there. In 2005, he earned his bachelor’s in design management from the Birmingham Institute of Art & Design. And upon graduation, he moved into central London. After 14 years away, he decided to return to LA and get reacquainted with his hometown.
Steven places a special focus on single-family homes in Jefferson Park, Leimert Park, South LA, and Expo Park West, districts of the city that are rich in architectural history. Steven also specializes in renovations, historic properties, and city permitting. Because of these attributes, clients always feel confident in knowing they are buying a property that meets “a certain standard,” and will truly make them happy to call it their home. Both buyers and investors alike appreciate Steven’s ability to determine the best means and methods to renovate and add value to their new properties. Steven has lived in numerous cities, including New York, Chicago, London, and Mexico City. He loves photography, abstract art, going to concerts, and collecting Adidas Originals.
